I love thrifting and finding cute outfits for cheap. Through my experience here are some tips on getting the most out of your thrifting!
Check Multiple Sizes
Whenever I go thrifting I always look at a few sizes smaller and larger than my actual size. Its just like when your out shopping in the mall and for different stores your size can vary. I’d say im normally a medium but in my closet I have things that are size small and large. For dresses its even crazier I have things that are anywhere between size 5 to size 10. Don’t let the sizes hold you back from finding something cute!
Be Patience
Thrifting isn’t a walk in and walk out situation. You have to search all the racks to find those hidden gems because rarely will you find something good right at the start. And sometimes you wont find anything and you just have to try again on another day when theres new stock in. Thrifting takes time but its worth it for the deals and unique clothes you can find.
Try Different Locations
If your tired of your local thrift store and you’ve combed through every rack and aren’t finding anything try going to a different city and thrifting there. Go to a rich neighborhood or a bigger thrift store, just try and change up your normal routine. You can also try resale stores that buy and sell peoples clothes, they’re a little pricier but still cheaper than buying clothes brand new.
Make Adjustments
Lastly don’t be afraid to make some minor (or major) changes to an item that just needs a little tlc. You find a dress that is cute but too long, snip it with some scissors and if your feeling crafty you can hem it as well. I love thrifting because as great as it is to find a perfect outfit for $5 its also fun to rework something and make it brand new.
I really hope this blog post was helpful and you can find some awesome clothes!
Happy Thrifting!
